Why we built it
Most readers want a practical answer: which plan fits, what an API project may cost, and where to verify the latest number before paying. Official pages are the source of truth, but they often assume you already know the vocabulary. We translate that into plain language.

How we research
Every factual claim on this site comes from one or more of three sources, in this order of priority:
- Official xAI and Grok pages, the product, pricing, API and documentation pages at x.ai, grok.com and docs.x.ai are the primary source for prices, model IDs, context windows and capabilities.
- Public product and app pages, we cross-check the official app, web and app-store listings to confirm how a feature is described and presented. Where we have not verified something first-hand, we present it as documented rather than tested.
- Reputable secondary reporting, for context like competitor pricing or rollout timing, we cite well-known outlets and always label such figures as “reported” rather than confirmed.
When something cannot be confirmed against an official source, we say so or leave it out. We do not publish rumours as fact or invent promotions, discounts or features.
Our pricing-freshness policy
AI prices move, so every pricing and model dataset carries a “last verified” date. Consumer pricing was last verified on 2026-07-02and API model data on 2026-07-22. Treat older figures as planning numbers and confirm the live price on the official pricing page before you buy.
Local SuperGrok app-store prices are labelled as local when observed. Other local figures are USD conversions for comparison. The amount xAI or an app store charges, including local tax, is whatever appears at checkout.
Editorial standards
We hold ourselves to a short, strict set of rules:
- Accuracy. A blank is better than a guess. We label uncertainty and date our facts.
- Independence. Comparisons are written the same way whether or not a product has an affiliate programme.
